Five Years Sober:: A Love Note to Him 👑

Today marks five years of sobriety for you, my love.

Precious man.

I want to take a moment to celebrate you, the journey, and the man you’ve become.

Five years ago, you made a decision that changed everything. You chose healing. You chose life. You chose you. And though many can see the outward symbols of your success- like the medals, achievements, and strength. What I’m most proud of is the person you are underneath it all.

The honest you.

The transparent you.

The loving, loyal, genuine, protective, providing you.

You've been to the dark side of life- what some might call the “bad side.” You've walked through shadows most would run from and do run from. But you didn’t let them define you. Instead, you became an example. A leader. A king.

In these past five years, you've poured your heart out- saying yes when you wanted to help. Even when people took advantage of your kindness. And when you said no, they called you names like "Bum". But they don't understand that every no was a boundary you fought hard to learn how to set. Every yes was a reflection of the man you truly are: selfless, giving, heart-led.

And here’s the truth- this goodness in you? It’s natural. It’s not performative. It’s not for applause. You would give, protect, and lead even if no one was watching. That’s the beauty of your heart. It’s big. It’s real. And it’s yours.

This 5-year mark isn’t just a milestone- it’s a mirror. A reminder that you don’t have anything left to prove. You’ve proven it already. Not to anyone else, but to yourself. Look at your timeline- what a powerful story it tells. A story of redemption. Of resilience. Of self-mastery.

So today, I just want to say this:

Love yourself the way you've learned to love others—with grace and full acceptance.
